-- If you are handling the nominators -- You will receive a copy of the nomination that includes the name of the nominator, in your private email. Unless Larry changes the format, it will look something like this: Nominator: Benjamin Franklin Nominator's email: DePress@Baltimore.net Nominee: George Washington Nominee's email: DePrez@valleyforge.org Nominated for: SWSC CC Representative Qualifying county, state or project: Tea Party County Qualifying state (where applicable): CA ... ... ... ... ... ... -- Always remember that the name of the nominator is confidential. Not even the nominee may know who nominated him. If the nomination is for a seat in your region, it's yours to handle. Verify (through the Membership List) that the nominator is a member in good standing of USGW. Nominators and Nominees do not have to be Registered. Send a thank you note to the nominator for his nomination. Post a note to the EC list that you have thanked the nominator. This is important, because your regional teammate will not know you've done that unless you tell them. I also keep worksheets to make sure we don't forget any steps, so I need to know, and of course we need a record via the EC list in case of a problem. Then look for word on the list from your teammate that he has contacted the nominee, and has received a reply from the nominee. If the nominee declines the nomination, write to the nominator informing him of that decision. Notify the EC list that the note has been sent. If the nominee accepts the nomination, your teammate will have to verify that the nominee meets the eligibility requirements. Upon hearing that the nominee does meet those requirements, write to the nominator informing him that the nominee has accepted, has met the eligibility requirements and is now a candidate. Inform the list that you have sent the note. If your teammate is unable to verify eligibility, write to the nominator informing him of that.
