Subject: [GC] Proposal of Kemis Massey to AB for Grievance Committee Position

Pursuant to our internal discussions, review and consensus, the Grievance Committee proposes Kemis S. Massey for the AB to appoint to the at-large position on our Committee. Please let us know how and when the evaluation of Kemis will be complete. Here is some biographical information on Ms. Massey:

"I have been with the GAGenWeb Project since September 2000. I'm the county coordinator for Chattahoochee, Clayton and Muscogee Counties. In 2005, I was elected to the position of West Central Regional Coordinator for GAGen. Started with AHGP in October 2005 as the Clayton County Webmaster. I'm the list administrator for Chattahoochee, Clayton, Harris and Muscogee Counties in GA. Also, list admin for MASSEY, MASSA, and ROSAMOND surname lists. Administrator for Rootsweb message boards Chattahoochee and Muscogee counties, MASSA and ZONGER surnames."

Since she has made the request per the ruling of the AB in Motion 02-12, I move that we hear this appeal.

Mr. Chair,
Apparently many of our members were not aware of the development of the guidelines on ABChat (USGENWEB-ALL) wherein we manage the draft of documents much easier without the necessary parliamentary motion amendment processes on BOARD. Many of us have received excellent suggestions from membership,either through various mailing lists or in private emails, concerning these guidelines. In many cases these suggestions require modification(s) to the proposal. So, to redraft the guidelines in an efficient manner, I withdraw my motion on CC Guidelines which you labeled 07-16. Unless you object, I will move the proposal over to ABChat and will assume the contact point in the development . I suggest that once posted on ABChat, an announcement be made by the four regional reps in their mailing lists and any other mailing lists you deem appropriate. I request the announcement to members contain a suggestion to subscribe to USGENWEB-ALL ( USGENWEB-ALL-L-request@rootsweb.com) if they have interest in participating. Mike

The chair has waited sufficient time for an objection to the withdrawal of Motion 07-16 to be made and no objection has been made. A quorum of AB members have indicated they have no objection to the withdrawal of Motion 07-16.

The Advisory Board is seeking five (5) volunteers in good status with demonstrated experience in organization financial management to serve on a temporary fact finding group as approved by Motion 07-12. If you are interested in volunteering, please submit your name, project positions that you hold and a summary of your financial qualifications to a member of the Advisory Board by August 1st 2007.

Motion 07-12
"I move the Advisory Board establish a special fact finding study group which would:

1] Review and document current financial laws relative to non-profit organizations such as USGenWeb. For example, incorporation registration, unincorporated non-profit registration, 501(c)3 status, status quo and so on and what each would mean to this organization as possible effects/non-effects of possible needed future funding.

2] Develop a list of possible financial paths USGenWeb could pursue, or not, with potential advantages and disadvantages.

3] Provide a report to the Advisory Board (without recommendations) of findings.

4] The group will have five members who have demonstrated experience in organizational financial management.

5] The Advisory Board will recruit and select initial and subsequent group members.

6] The group will structure itself and the group leadership and assignments.

7] The group will provide reports of tasks, accomplishments, and plans to the Advisory Board every month."
