MOTION 2008/09-14: COPYRIGHT INFORMATION NATIONAL PAGE 13 Apr 2009 by Mike St. Clair, 2nd by Larry Flesher
"I move that we approve, by general consent, a replacement for the current copyright page located at: http://usgenweb.org/volunteers/copyright.shtml
The replacement page should be worded exactly as the current draft located at: http://usgenweb.org/volunteers/copyright-draft.shtml
with the addition of the first paragraph shown in the text version of the proposed page below, beginning with "Copyright is a complex area of law," which addition should be in bold.
(full text at: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/BOARD/2009-04/1239674456)

14 Apr 2009 by the NC
By requirement of general consent, having heard no objection from the vast majority of the Advisory Board members, this Motion has passed.
The web manager will be directed to make the necessary adjustments to the National pages.
Thank you all very much for your work on this issue. The Board also extends a thank you to Pat Asher for her work with the Board preparing the content for this page.

AGENDA ITEMS FOR MAY 2009 AGENDA 18 Apr 2009 by Mike St. Clair
I'd like to propose for the May agenda, discussing a standard procedure or rule for what to do if a State Coordinator doesn't respond to the few issues that are essential to be handled if the project is to operate smoothly. These might include such items as responding to requests for member lists from the Election Committee, confirming state project membership to the Election Committee, responding to communications from their state membership and the Advisory Board and remaining subscribed the the State Coordinator's mailing list.
In the past, if problems arose they were handled on an ad hoc basis. I'd like us to discuss whether it would be desirable to handle these in a standard and more predictable way, and what such a procedure or rule should consist of.

19 Apr 2009 by Gail Kilgore
Also, would like to get the grievances cleared up so we can get that off our backs.
We need to work on this stuff in a speeder time frame to get thru it all.

20 Apr 2009 by Mike St. Clair
For either the May or June agenda at your discretion, depending upon how we do on the current list (but no later than June) I'd like to see us discuss getting the USGENWEB Newsletter back into operation. I'd prefer to see a newsletter that is published on a predictable and consistent schedule and which would be available as both an email and in a web format.

MOTION 2008/09-15: ELECTION PROCESS REVIEW COMMITTEE 30 Apr 2009 by Phyllis Rippee, 2nd by Ann Allen Geoghegan
I move that a committee be established and given the charge of reviewing the rules and procedures of the Election Process in general and voter registration in particular. This committee will report out a document that simplifies and brings cohesiveness to the current rules and procedures.
The committee is to be composed of two (2) members chosen by the EC to be their representatives; two (2) members chosen by the AB to be their representatives; one (1) member chosen by the Special Projects to be their representaive; two (2) members chosen by the SCs to be their representatives; and the NC who will act as ex officio member. No more than four (4) members who are also SCs are to serve on this committee.
Members chosen to represent the EC, or the AB, do not have to be currently serving on either, but should at minimum be past members of the respective entities.
Recognizing time contraints in regard to the current Election Cycle, this committee's report probably will not effect the work of the Election Committee this cycle.
[discussion continued in May 2009 session]
