As National Coordinator, I have received a request for use of the USGenWeb Project logo from the Faulkner County Arkansas Historical Society's journal "Facts & Fiddlings".
The article is about the Faulkner Co ARGebWeb Project website [http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~arfaulkn/], inclusive of its parent project the USGenWeb Project.

Subject: [STATE-COORD] EC Vacancies
**Please Forward as appropriate to USGenWeb Members** The Election Committee is looking for replacement volunteers to fill seats that are currently vacant. The "job" includes: Developing a working relationship with SCs and/or ASCs to maintain a current Project membership list, and assisting in all polls and elections, especially during the months of June and part of July to host the USGenWeb Project's Annual Election. Volunteers will have the satisfaction of working with an excellent group of people to handle an important responsibility that allows our members to have a voice in our elections. Any member of the project who is eligible to vote is eligible for membership in the EC, the exception being that no Advisory Board member may serve as a working member of the EC. If interested, please send Email to Shirley Cullum shirlcullum@sbcglobal.net. Please state your full name and a word about where you currently are a volunteer, including the URL of your site(s). The following positions are currently open: RAL - 2 year replacement. Term ending December 31, 2009 SEMA - 1 year replacement Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, New Jersey, South Carolina, Tennessee. Term ending 31 December 2008. Thank you, The USGenWeb Election Committee

SPEAKERS, EDUCATIONAL AND PROMOTIONAL RESOURCES (Feb 29, 2008) By the NC
In the October newsletter I wrote, in part:
"As the USGenWeb Project enters our 12th year, we face many great possibilities! My hope as your National Coordinator, is to facilitate a greater presence among the genealogical community of the work that our many volunteers and contributors do to make -- the USGenWeb Project ... the Land of Free Genealogy!
Among the ideas is a "speakers bureau" of Project volunteers willing to speak on behalf of the Project, and to create a place on our national pages to promote that service to the genealogical community. I have seen such talent within the USGenWeb Project. PROMOTE!"
I have had our web master do a mock-up of my initial thoughts for these pages and offer it now to all of you to discuss. http://www.usgenweb.org/education/speakers/
Thank you Linda for your work on these pages.
Additional considerations are:
-- How does a Project member submit his/her own name or idea?, and to whom.
-- The feasibility of this being a joint service [clearinghouse of sorts] with Genealogical, Historical Societies on state or local levels.
Discussion and other considerations please.
